This is an interesting beginning, however it would be more relevant if we could see more of you in the creature. You need to work out a way of melding your character and features with those of the flamingo so when we look at the finished piece we can recognise it as being you rather than a random hybrid. It is this recognition that will create the horror/ uncanniness and will result in a more effective final piece.
Maybe taking a self portrait of yourself as a starting point and adding flamingo characteristics would be a better starting point, once you have worked out how the rules of the metamorphosis are going to work you can apply them to a full body image. You have to produce a series of head shots anyway so from those you can truly derive a Jutmingo.

It's funny you say that as that is exactly what I'm doing now :)
ReplyDeleteI've just put up my head shots and I'm going to use another peice of paper to trace over the flamingo parts and photoshop them together.
