Worlds Apart - Barbarella

Barbarella - 1968

Director - Roger Vadim

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, it's 40,000 years AD and Barbarella is on a mission from the President of Earth to find a scientist called Duran Duran. There's not much good to say about this film, only that joy of joys you get to see the beautiful Jane Fonda (Barbarella) naked. Lucky that's in the first 10 minutes of the film so after that momentous event you can just switch it off or rewind.

I'd like to say there was some inspirational sets in the film but to be honest there wasn't much. The only thing that caught my attention (apart from previously said naked heroine) was the set of the labyrinth, which was well thought out. Most of the sets were full of 60's campness and oodles of 60's furryness meaning this film would be always associated to the time it was made.

I really can't go on anymore apart from to say, I now know where 80's super cool band Duran Duran got their name.  Watch this film at your peril.
